How these terms relate to the Association's governing documents
This website and these terms are a convenience, not a substitute for the Association's declaration, bylaws, covenants, and official rules. If anything on this website conflicts with those governing documents, the governing documents control. This site is also not necessarily the Association's official channel for legally required notices unless a specific page says otherwise — check with the office for anything time-sensitive or official.
Community information
Calendars, announcements, amenity details, and other content on this site are provided for general convenience and may be updated or corrected without notice. Please don't treat this website as the sole source for binding decisions — confirm anything important (real estate matters, safety, rule compliance, official notices) directly with Lake of the Forest, Inc. or a qualified professional.
Member accounts
Signing in uses Clerk, our identity provider, and access is limited to residents whose email matches our records. Keep your login credentials to yourself — don't share your account. Administrators may grant, restore, or revoke a member's access to the members' area consistent with Association administration; every such action is logged (who did it, who it affected, and when) in an internal audit trail.
Clubhouse rental inquiries
Submitting a clubhouse rental inquiry through this site is a request, not a confirmed booking. A reservation is only confirmed once Association staff follow up and any required agreement, payment, or rules are settled directly with the office.
Shop purchases
The shop sells a small selection of Association merchandise. Checkout is handled entirely by Stripe on Stripe's own secure hosted page — we never see or store your card number. Prices, availability, and product details may change; we'll honor the order as confirmed at checkout, and we may need to cancel and refund an order that turns out to be unavailable or priced in error.
Returns and refunds: if something's wrong with your order, contact us at the email below and we'll work with you to make it right (replacement, exchange, or refund through Stripe to your original payment method, as appropriate).
Acceptable use
Please don't use this site to attempt unauthorized access to another member's account or to member-only information, interfere with the site's normal operation, or use member directory or contact information for solicitation, harassment, or unrelated commercial purposes.
Intellectual property
Text, photos, and graphics on this site belong to Lake of the Forest, Inc. or are used with permission. You're welcome to view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use; please ask us before republishing or reusing our content elsewhere.
No warranty
Content on this site is provided for general community information and may be updated or become outdated without notice. We make reasonable efforts to keep it accurate, but we don't guarantee that every page is complete, current, or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lake of the Forest, Inc. and its directors, officers, employees, and volunteers are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of this site.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Venue for any dispute shall lie in the state or federal courts located in Kansas, as appropriate.
